Flying to Managua, Nicaragua:

Flying into Managua is the easiest option once you are on the ground with just a 2-2.5 hour drive through the beautiful Nicaraguan countryside directly to Costa Dulce.  The difficulty here is that there are fewer direct flight options then to our Next easiest International Aiport Located in Liberia, Costa Rica.

Flying to Liberia, Costa Rica and entering Nicaragua via the land border: 

Costa Rica has dropped all COVID related travel requirements, you just need proof of onward travel like your return flight or bus ticket. The flights to Liberia typically have better prices and more options and the airport is also only about 3 hours travel time to Costa Dulce including the border crossing. Crossing the land border can be intimidating if you don’t speak Spanish, however we’ve created a downloadable Nicaragua to Costa Rica Border-Crossing Guide to simplify the process and have a team of drivers on both sides of the border to help you along the way.

It is always best to do your own research, Nicaragua’s Board of Tourism typically has the most up to date information.

Flying to San Jose, Costa Rica:

San Jose is often the best option when coming from Europe as there are more direct flight options then Liberia or Managua. The trip from San Jose is about 6 hours total so it only makes sense to if you are going to save significant time or money on your flight.

TRANSPORTATION SHUTTLES:

The easiest way to get to Costa Dulce is by using one of Costa Dulce’s trusted, friendly and professional ground transportation providers.

Roundtrip airport transfers to and from the retreat are included in your retreat rate for your convenience. Shuttle service is arranged to ensure a smooth arrival and departure experience.

Please Note:

If you’re unable to arrive within the designated time frames, a private shuttle can be arranged at an additional cost. Shared prices dependent on number of people available.

IMPORTANT:

To enter Nicaragua you will be required to have a minimum of 6 month passport validity.
To fly into Costa Rica with a one-way ticket you will need to present proof of onward travel, this can be a bus ticket or a flight itinerary.

Leaving Costa Rica: $10 (unless you are in the country for less than 12 hours in which case it is free)
